Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Production Supervisors must provide strong leadership and effectively manage team member, materials, equipment, process and cost for the team(s) assigned. Production Supervisors are required to focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, JIT requirements and productivity of their assigned areas.
Primary Responsibilities
To support and ensure compliance with the company policies and guidelines
Knowledgeable to company Handbook and follow, explain and clarify company policies and procedures to employees
Leader in all principles of safety, PPE, accident investigation, environmental investigation and reporting to EHS Coordinator (such as spills, Blood borne Pathogen Clean up)
Use of progressive discipline to counsel behaviors for work performance and attendance
Recommend and assist in implementing measures to improve production methods, equipment, product quality and efficiency through daily communications (meetings, production reports, emails)
Manage issues that arise and maintain responsibility for downtime, team issues, quality issues and report as required
Allocate, monitor and report manning weekly, knowledge of direct and indirect labor goals
Support and promote all initiatives of the 5S Programs
Train, coach and motivate the production team leaders and production employees
Participate and facilitate training and evaluations as needed
Communicate issues to plant management team, or other support groups on a daily basis
Perform Maintenance on Work Instructions
Lead and promote diverse teamwork in all areas of the plant
Report all production data to appropriate groups on a timely daily basis
Perform all other assigned duties
Ability to work overtime as needed or support others shifts as needed
Years of Experience
At least 3-5 years of experience in a Supervisory position
Demonstrate knowledge of products, processes and systems
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to include computer literacy
Education
Associates Degree preferred
Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications
Demonstrate knowledge of products, processes and systems
Experience and knowledge in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and Kaizen
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a multicultural environment
Microsoft Office skills, including strong Excel skills
Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision
