Job Description
Process Technicians are responsible for setting up the injection molding machines to the defined process specification, while minimizing scrap and down time.
Primary Responsibilities
Providing support for the transfer/installation of new molds, resins, and machinery
Prepare molds, bases, and inserts to meet changeover schedules
Startup, shutdown, and operate injection molding machines
Support the development of new and existing operators
Provide verbal updates, status of work, technical problems, and their solutions to colleagues during shift change meetings
Participate in special projects as required
Years of Experience
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years relevant injection molding experience
Degree Preferred
High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required
Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications
Knowledge of plastics technology, including: screws and barrels, molding material delivery systems, temperature control units, grinders, dryers, separators, and their applications
Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and power transmission systems
Basic knowledge of mold design
Knowledge of computers, programs, and their applications as needed
Technical Skills Use of department tools and equipment, including material handling equipment
Special Requirements (i.E.: Overtime, Travel, etc.)
Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends
