Seeking Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care, and perform specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by clinical protocol. Assists medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Must have current BLS Certification
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Medical Assistant Certification Preferred
You must have a minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalent along with at least one of the following:
A diploma from a Medical Assistant Program
Minimum of 1 year of medical assisting experience
Equivalent of 1 year combined relevant medical assisting experience and education
Military Medic training, or EMT-P (Paramedic) training
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
Ability to prepare and process laboratory samples using established protocols
Demonstrative effectiveness in conveying information both in writing and verbally
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews and updates patient charts, rooms patients, obtains and records patient vital signs, and medical history, and assesses reasons for patient visits.
Within scope of practice, performs tasks related to medication administration and documentation.
Completes point of care testing (POCT) as ordered by the provider and documents the outcome in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Provides basic patient care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, suture removal, phlebotomy, venipuncture, etc. Records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patients' conditions.
Sets up equipment and prepares exam rooms for patient visits. Maintains patient areas and working spaces in a clean, neat and orderly manner. Responsible for cleaning and turning over rooms as directed. Monitors use of supplies/medications, restocks as necessary, and communicates to assigned personnel when supplies need to be ordered.
Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues within established parameters.
Assists doctors, PA s and nurses, with examinations, treatments, special tests, and procedures. May provide after visit summary and other related care documents.
Sterilizes equipment, instruments and medical areas using germicides, sterilizer, or autoclave as directed.
Assists in quality control efforts for medications, supplies, etc. Including but not limited to medication refrigeration.
Assists with check-in/-out functions, scheduling, patient referrals and follow-ups, and other clerical duties as assigned.
Must successfully complete Ambulatory Skills Orientation upon hire and annually thereafter. Works with clinical preceptor to enhance training and improve any skill deficiency.
Ability to perform functions using job-related software and systems.
Travel may be required to accommodate staffing levels at other clinical facilities.
