Blanchard Operator -- you will be responsible for grinding parts flat and parallel to customer-specified thickness and finish, using a Blanchard machine. You will also contribute to our team efforts for operating in a safe environment and delivering quality parts on time.
To succeed in this role, you will need to:
Follow the router, blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine the sequence of operations
Prepare the machine for production by positioning parts on table with block-ins or angle blocks
Set and adjust the controls to regulate the machining process
Observe the operations, detect defects, inspect parts, and adjust controls to maintain specifications
Resolve production problems by adjusting controls and process materials to meet specifications. Notify supervisor for additional resources when necessary
Complete preventive maintenance requirements on scheduled times, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and alerting supervisor of necessity of for repairs
Meet daily production scheduled requirements
Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
Contribute to continuous improvement process
Perform other duties as assigned
To qualify for this role, you will need 1 to 3 years of experience in Manufacturing. Basic reading and math skills (minimum of 8th-grade level) and GED or High School Diploma required. Must have the ability to lift up to 75lbs
