Heavy Equipment Operators
Job Description
OVERALL OBJECTIVE: Works in a safe and efficient manner to maximize production unloading trailers and providing raw materials to the systems.
REPORTS TO: Shift Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:
I. PRODUCTION:
-Operates various mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner unloading various raw material trailers and providing raw materials to the operational systems. Must be able to climb ladders, work on elevated work platforms, and operate mobile equipment.
-Maintain mobile equipment as per the SOP (including blowdowns and routine service). Responsible for accurate record keeping in moving material into and out of the raw room.
-Supports the yardman as needed.
-Assist with keeping plant organized and clean every day. Workstation and equipment cleanup is required daily and during production runs if needed.
II. QUALITY:
Maintains and verifies that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicated to supervisors, production employees, office personnel, and customers. Assist in the implementation of new procedures as needed.
III. SAFETY:
-Operates equipment as per the SOP, following directions as provided.
-Keeps work area clean and organized.
-Utilizes all of the required PPE as required by the task being performed. THIS IS A HIGH DUST environment and the equipment must be properly maintained while in operation.
-Helps keep others safe in the work place by looking out for them and participating in safety related improvements.
-Follow the safety protocols for the use of mobile equipment.
IV. OTHER ACTIVITIES;
Available to work on any assigned shift including scheduled overtime (includes Sunday). Establishes personal growth and works with fellow employees towards continuous improvement and teamwork.
V. Discretionary Profit Bonus Goals. Each month 30% of the profit bonus is discretionary based on achieving set goals.
Safety- (10%)
No accidents, injuries, violations, or at fault damage incidents
Attendance (10%)
No unexcused absences, no more than two unexcused tardiness and early outs.
Performance- (10%)
No occurrences of unacceptable levels of productivity
No failures to properly perform job duties
No work rule violations of serious nature
No disciplinary actions
