Maintenance Technician Grade 1
Reports To
Maintenance Supervisor
Job Overview
As a Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures, assist in the upkeep and repairs on our manufacturing equipment, and aid in the completion of special projects. Work will consist of but not limited to maintaining the grounds, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and machinery trades work. The goal of a maintenance technician is to maintain the facilities, common areas, and machinery in the best possible condition. Successful maintenance technicians are detail oriented with strong manual dexterity and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities and Other Duties
Facilities Maintenance
Inspect building, HVAC and electrical equipment, grounds, machinery, and other related items. Tests systems to identify and report any issues to Maintenance Supervisor.
Conduct routine building and grounds upkeep including but not limited to cutting grass, painting, carpentry, plumbing and maintenance of electrical systems, and other duties as required to maintain facility.
Assist in monitoring and conducting regular inventories on maintenance items and tools.
Record material usage, input labor hours, and manage work orders using a CMMS.
Perform other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.
Preventative Maintenance
Perform preventive maintenance on facilities, equipment, and machinery to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and perform adjustments as necessary.
Disassemble machinery and/or equipment to remove parts to make repairs.
Examine parts for defects such as breakage, excessive wear, and perform cleaning on machinery and throughout the grounds.
Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
Machine Maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair machine malfunctions such as photo eye adjustments, ensuring machine timing, component replacements, etc.
Demonstrate equipment functions and proper care to machine operators.
Demonstrates the ability to understand and adhere to safety programs such as LOTO, adhere to compliance standards, safety practices and procedures, and with federal, state, and local codes and requirements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would bring the following experiences and qualifications for this position:
Working knowledge and ability to apply methods and techniques used in the operation, repair, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and machinery.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, as needed to support maintenance operations.
Able to work overtime when necessary to meet deadlines and ensure minimal downtime.
Capable of working on elevated surfaces and comfortable working on elevated platforms.
Ability to understand and adhere to safety programs, adhere to compliance standards, safety practices and procedures, and with federal, state, and local codes and requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent required, certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus.
Valid driver s license required.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical demands for this position include walking, pulling, lifting (up to 50lbs), grasping, hearing, kneeling, bending, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, and crawling.
Mastered ability to use a tape measure, gathering measurements to 1/16 .
Minimum 1 year experience working with automated manufacturing equipment and/or facilities maintenance experience, education may be used in lieu of experience.
Must be able to write and communicate in English, ability to speak Spanish a plus.
