Position: Extrusion Packer
Compensation: $16.00/ hr
Duties & Accountabilities
Owns the Extrusion Packer Function for USAVinyl LLC.
Work with and support Maintenance & Tooling to accomplish changeover, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting related to process control.
Works closely with operator to review and drive process control improvement activities.
Work with Operator to learn and understand the extrusion process/set-up to continue growth at USAVinyl LLC.
Create a positive and productive environment by working well with all employees.
Accountable for inspection of all profile Quality and communicate issues ( i.E., weight, wall thickness, visual contaminants, bow, camber, concavity, crowning, etc. ) found immediately with operator for adjustments.
Responsible for documenting all quality criteria on hourly read sheet.
Measuring and cutting all plastic film and wood setups for profile bundles.
Responsible for transferring complete, packaged units of material to stock including the correct barcode identification labels.
Responsible for the overall housekeeping of the assigned lines while on shift and assisting the Lead Operator and/or Supervisor when asked throughout the shift.
Sort and segregate all scrap profiles from good profiles into gaylords or other packaging.
Monitor and maintain a clean work area at all times especially for shift change.
Monitor and maintain all tools i.E., micrometer, tape measure, hammer, Sawzall, and other QC and extrusion equipment.
Carry a fork lift license for material handling which spans from bundle removal to raw material movement from racking to the extrusion line.
Member of our Extrusion Team (google EOS traction - this is our business operating system).
Comply with all OSHA regulations inside the extrusion plant environment.
All other duties as assigned by the Operator, Supervisor and/or Management.
Skills & Competencies
High School Diploma, GED, or 1 year minimum experience in manufacturing
High degree of accuracy, initiative, and adaptability
Ability to perform basic math
Capacity to accurately measure and read measurements
Good problem solving abilities
Ability to use good judgement, communicate effectively both orally and written, courage to act, be flexible, ability to work under pressure, produce accurate information timely and demonstrate mechanical ability
Proficient with basic computer functions
