Marion Company in need of a Field Service Technician Person in Charge.
This is a direct hire opportunity

POSITION: Field Service Technician Person in Charge.

SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating projects, attending customer and vendor meetings, as well as the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of the company s machinery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

1. Troubleshoots machines accurately and efficiently.
2. Repairs the company s machines accurately and efficiently.
3. Make modifications to the company s machines accurately and efficiently.
4. Installs the company s machines accurately and efficiently.
5. Assembles and disassembles the company s machines accurately and effectively.
6. Cleans parts and adjacent parts that are being repaired.
7. Follows established tool procedures.
8. Maintains lock out tag out locks and follows procedures when working inside the machine and performing repairs.
9. Sends, receives, and analyzes customer interview sheets and performs thorough and accurate preventative maintenance on the company s machines, and makes preventative maintenance reports within 2 weeks of returning.
10. Coordinates closely with the Sales Department and Office Staff concerning ongoing projects.
11. Obtains approval from the Field Service Supervisor for all purchases.
12. Makes redesign suggestions of accessory components and communicate to Japan with the approval of the FS and Plant Manager.
13. Ensures that necessary parts and tools are ready prior to the project, travel arrangements are made, and the field service report is prepared.
14. Checks tools prior to leaving customer site to ensure all company s tools are accounted for and organize tools prior to arriving back at the shop.
15. Accurately pulls, and highlights assembly and parts drawings, (mark as quoted, or may need to replace).
16. Must have precise measurement figures while working on a project.
17. Completes given projects accurately, and thoroughly.
18. Refers to machine drawings when working at the shop, at the job site or talking to customers at all times and report to the supervisor.
19. Follows up with customers post service and document the results.
20. Communicates effectively with customers, management, and co-workers.
21. Provides excellent customer service. Handle customer inquiries when needed, and file correspondence records in the project folder.
22. Delivers or picks up merchandise to and from customers or vendors.
23. Creates and modifies documents in Microsoft Office.
24. Asks office personnel to make hotel reservations for all overnight business trips.
25. Reports to the company s Office Staff and Field Service Staff the hotel name, phone number, and room number for emergency purposes upon arriving at hotel.
26. Submits expense reports with attached receipts and field service reports within 2 days of return.
27. Submits business trip reports daily (working hours, detailed measurements, and working progress with digital pictures).
28. Calls the office while away from the shop (morning and afternoon).
29. Maintains the vehicle mileage report.
30. Develops new vendors and maintains customer relationships.
31. Report to supervisor any inquiries and/or complaints from customers.

PERSON IN CHARGE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervise field service team while on the project jobsite and in the office.
2. Prepares and coordinates projects.
3. Checks voicemail and email while away from the shop and at home.
4. Sends out or makes sure a detailed nightly report, with pictures, is sent to the company s staff daily.
5. Continually train other Field Service and Sales employees.
6. Conducts organized pre and post meetings with detailed meeting notes.
7. Accurately completes and updates on-site schedule for projects.
8. Responsible to follow and supervise others on all safety procedures on and off the project.
9. Follows established Field Service Procedure.
10. Proactively look for multiple solutions for the machine breakdown.
11. Proactively look for multiple solutions to remedy the breakdown of the machine.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES / REQUIREMENTS
1. Maintains the vehicle maintenance record and mileage report.
2. Manage the company car fleet (Schedule service maintenance and overall care of the company cars.)
a. This includes making sure the cars are clean, updating registration, recalls, and documentation of everything to do with the vehicles.
3. Ensures that fellow technicians have prepared the required equipment, tools, uniform requirements (per the customer) and distribute documentation regarding upcoming projects.
4. Use of forklift within the company facility. Obtains (re)certification through Annual Safety Training.

10. Maintains the company s shop and office equipment (hand tools, measuring tools, PC, cell phones, vehicles, safety equipment, uniforms, etc.) Notifies management if there is an issue.
11. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the company s facility.
12. Maintains safety and security of all work areas, both on and off site (company vehicles, doors secured in the facility, complying with all company safety and environmental policies, procedures, and practices.)
13. Uses time effectively and efficiently.
14. Carries out job effectively and efficiently.
15. Clocks in and out every day.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. All necessary requirements are performed at pre-employment timing as part of the physical testing prior to accepting this position. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds. Anything over 75 pounds should implement the safe lifting common sense approach by using the buddy system.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES
1. High school diploma or equivalent. Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
3. Must be willing and able to learn and share knowledge.
4. Must be energetic, organized, and team oriented.
5. Must exercise good judgment at all times.
6. Must be flexible and able to spend at least 2 weeks away from home at a time.
7. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
8. Must possess a valid driver s license and clean driving record.
9. Must maintain the company s Forklift Certification.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES
1. Draws and edits new blueprints, as necessary.
2. Experience in a Japanese cultured environment.
3. CPR Training Certificate.
