As a Shipping Clerk, you will examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy. You will record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or record keeping purposes.
Other responsibilities of the role include:
Person must have knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, and PPT. Person should also have experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Shipping & Receiving Clerk Duties Include the Following:
Performing monthly and bi-weekly inventory checks
Receiving and inspecting returned products
Sign customers in and out of the warehouse
Filling customer orders according to standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Use of computer hardware and software (Excel, Word, WMS, RF Scanner)
Performing/directing daily and weekly cleaning duties according to SOPs
Maintaining and organizing adequate shipping supplies
Prepare and perform cycle counts
Operation of a forklift on an as needed basis
Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment:
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Direct team in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
Assisting in others areas as needed and performing other duties as assigned
Ability to multi-task, and be extremely detailed while performing all tasks and reports.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
AS400 knowledge along with all Office Applications a plus.
Organized, detailed, and capable of multi-tasking.
Excellent attendance and willingness to be part of a team performing whatever duties are necessary.
