The Registered Nurse will work under the supervision of the Unit Manager following the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of practice, and code of ethics (see attachment) within a Patient and Family Centered Care Model. These standards include: PRIMARY JOB DUTIES Assessment- collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient s health or the situation. Nursing diagnosis- analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnoses or issues. Outcomes identification- identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation. Planning- develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes. Implementation- implements the identified plan. Coordination of care (delegating) Health teaching and health promotion Evaluation- evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes. ANA Standards of Professional Practice: Quality of practice- systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice. Education- attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice.
