Maintenance Technician III: Advanced level class of Maintenance Technician. This class is distinguished from the Maintenance Technician II by the assignment of the full range of duties and the application of specialized knowledge in the more complex and advanced work, tasks, and projects of the Maintenance Department. This position provides supervision and training to a team of Maintenance Technicians. Receives general direction from Facilities Manager. Upon request, may be required to investigate continuous improvement projects, deliver training packages, order supplies, manage inventory, schedule work. Required to exercise technical supervision over Maintenance Technician I/II positions.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain production machines and the plant facility s equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Perform machinist duties and use of welders, acetylene torches and brazing or soldering equipment.
Demonstrate technical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Create and maintain maintenance documentation for equipment.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
Perform basic plumbing, electrical maintenance and carpentry duties.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to perform

5+ years of experience and graduate of a technical school or 8+ years of practical experience working
with various types of building support equipment and production machinery
Associates Degree preferred
Understanding of principals and theories of mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance.
Communicate effectively; both oral and written.
Ability to think critically and work well with others in a team based environment.
Strong problem solving skills
PC skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel. PLC programming experience.
