Installs molds, dies, or trimming devices into presses
Set-up and tear down related racks, boards, check fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment related to dies and presses
Inspects fixtures, tools, and gages to ensure suitability for use
Verifies first piece production meets required specifications, records set up scrap
Follows established set-up procedures
Assists in troubleshooting manufacturing processes to ensure quality parts
At the direction of Manager, performs preventative maintenance, repairing and maintaining equipment and machinery
Evaluates maintenance needs/problems and makes recommendations concerning course of action
Works with Engineering, Production and Quality Assurance regarding equipment development, design, safety, repair, labor requirements and provides technical backup (i.E. Review prints, develop prints, assists in capability studies)
Assists with design, layout, construction and installation of machines and equipment including presses, die cutters, check fixture assemblies, auxiliary equipment, etc.
Troubleshoots, repairs and verifies repairs were effective on building equipment, manufacturing machines and support equipment. Notifies supervision of any issues with machinery or equipment that requires additional repairs.
Maintains parts storage, company equipment and maintenance areas in an organized manner. Requisitions supplies, tools and parts as needed for repairs, project work or to replace depleted stock.
Reworks and labels molds, fixtures, dies as required to meet form, function or print specifications
Assists in the development and production of prototype and sample parts, according to customer s requirements
Performs tasks timely and correctly, and completes daily paperwork / computer data entry, indicating hours performed by job for customer and company capital projects
Attends training classes, internally and externally, as required to increase current knowledge base in areas of responsibility
Assist outside customers and vendors throughout a project, as required
Maintains a clean and safe work environment by following safe work practices in course of job assignment and by maintaining clean work areas. Returns tools, materials and equipment to proper storage area once a job is completed.
Operate forklift, scissors and boom lift, and other shop equipment such as welder, drill and saw as needed to perform duties
Minimum Requirements for Maintenance / Set-up Technician:
High school diploma or GED
Four to six years of experience in industrial maintenance position or relevant degree
Experienced in equipment controls and plc troubleshooting, industrial 480V 3ph electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding.
Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
Basic Computer knowledge
