We are looking for an orthopedic DME/bracing fitter to work in an outpatient orthopedic setting!
If you have experience with durable medical equipment (DME) or orthopedics, we want to hear from you!
Ideal candidates are Athletic Trainers (ATC), Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA), Medical Assistants (MA) or others experienced with durable medical equipment and patient care. We are looking for someone with a professional image, technical product and clinical competency, experience with the application of durable medical equipment, computer literacy, and orientation to detail and organization, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
General Summary
Under direct supervisor and orders of the physician, the DME Fitter will provide proper fitting and education on orthopedic durable medical equipment to patients and assist with the coordination of the programs to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Familiarity with fitting braces
Strong communication, written, and organizational skills
Experience verifying patient benefits and/or obtaining authorizations preferred
Experience educating patients on financial matters preferred
Responsibilities Include:
Perform fitting, and execute minor modifications as necessary.
Evaluate orthotic device on patient, adjust to assure fit, function, medical efficacy, and instruct patient in use of orthopedic device.
Provides education to patients on the application, use, care and expected outcome for products as indicated by the physician instructions.
Identify and reconcile issues/problems to ensure patient satisfaction with devices provided.
Completely and accurately document all services provided.
Educate patients in regard to insurance plans and provisions, financial responsibility and collection of patient portion.
Follows current professional best practices required to solve specific problems and interprets patient response and progresses accordingly.
Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
Maintains safe and clean working environment and cares for equipment.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday
8: 00am - 4: 30pm
