Job Description

As our Safety Coordinator you must make safety a priority throughout the facility. You will maintain OSHA records, assists employees that have been injured, assures that accident reports/root cause analysis are accurately filed out and conducts accident investigations. Does daily walk through, Conducts Safety Committee meetings, as well as Supervisor/Manager Safety meetings.

Primary Job Tasks
First Aid/CPR Trained (assuring the ability to respond to an emergency)
Bring input to Safety Coordinator Meetings
Verify that all incidents are documented timely and accurately
Reporting Injuries to Workers Comp Carrier / BWC
Training- Haz Comm, Emergency Evacuation, Safety Orientations, ETC
Enter all incidents into Industry Safe and maintain the claims with updated information as needed.
Issuing Bona fide job offers when necessary
Placing Orders through Texas for all supplies
Conduct safety meetings with supervisors and safety committee.
Updating Safety boards throughout the warehouse
Verifying, submitting, monitoring all Safety/ Maintenance Work Orders Updating Texas of status
Assures all PPE is being used accurately
Works Closely with facility that provides medical attention to injured employees to verify injuries are expedited correctly and efficiently
Inspects emergency and safety equipment to insure its readiness.
Handles and works closely with OSHA and WC Inspections.
Provide first Aid to injuries
Provide transportation to medical facility (only 1st visit) for injuries or random drug screens
Take required employees for Drug Test and physical (New hires should have their own transportation)
Work with employees on light duty to get them back to full time.
Attend and participate in the Fairfield County Safety Committee.
Enforces the Company s Drug Free Workplace Program.

Qualifications

People oriented with strong leadership mentality
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Self-motivated, strong ethics and ability to work with minimal supervision
Knowledge and ability to report incidents to OSHA and BWC
First Aid/CPR trained
Strong computer knowledge, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
