Job Title: Material Planning and Logistics Scheduler
Department: MP&L
Job Description
Responsible for the production scheduling to support our production and customer requirements. The roles and responsibilities listed are not meant to be all inclusive. The needs of the company may require individuals to perform other functions.
Primary Responsibilities
Create a Master Production Plan for designated products, including manufacturing lead times
Providing the plant with a daily production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast and issues releases (specifically 830 s and 862 s)
Manage supplier releases in an ERP system to ensure product availability for production.
Manage physical inventory and cycle counting activities
Responsible for cycle counts and inventory control
Communicates tool changes to production floor to fulfill production schedule.
Balance inventory levels, piece and freight costs.
Control releases to minimize obsolescence while supporting customer s requirements
Manage international freight to ensure product availability for production while meeting inventory targets
Freight bill reconciliation, coordination of 3PL freight studies, monitor supplier conformance to designated carriers, review opportunities for improvements and cost savings
Premium freight reports internally (AETC & SSUI Summary)
Support requests/study for logistics costs
Coordinate Logistics providers as required; expedite production parts if necessary following AETC approval process
Utilize the Hanon vendor delivery performance system (SQRS) for all suppliers providing production parts
Manage supplier related inventory metrics
Support and participate in EHS Objectives
Years of Experience
Five+ years production planning and scheduling experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
Degree Preferred
Bachelor degree in field related with production and inventory control and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications
Experience using SAP required
Experience using MRP/ERP system-SAP preferred
Experience in managing manufacturing processes, productivity, and efficiency requirements as related to scheduling activities
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Strong communication, organization skills
Strong problem solving and analysis skills
Ability to understand customer demand and how to alter production to meet demand as well as an ability to manage complexity and resolve conflicts that arise from balancing multiple priorities
Strong knowledge of shipping & receiving functions including international freight
Previous automotive is a plus, but not necessary
